Is There a Traffic Cap on Hosting Plans?

On SupportHost’s hosting plan pages, such as shared hosting or WordPress hosting, you will see a number of monthly visits listed for each plan.

Unlike other hosting providers, SupportHost does not have a monthly visit limit.

The number of visitors shown in the table is an estimate to give you a rough idea of the monthly visitors your site can support.

The actual traffic your site can handle depends on two main factors:

  • The resources allocated to your plan.
  • How the website was optimized.

On SupportHost, shared plans have resource limits concerning:

  • RAM
  • CPU
  • I/O
  • Number of processes.

The traffic is not limited nor capped.

You can monitor your site’s actual consumption through the Resource Usage tool accessible from cPanel. This tool allows you to see statistics on resource usage and track any spikes

Note: If you encounter an error, please refer to the tutorial on exceeding resource limits to learn how to identify the problem.

Remember, resource consumption depends on both actual traffic and site optimization.

This means that an optimized site can support more traffic with the same amount of resources.

PHP errors or processes that remain open can lead to abnormal resource consumption, causing your site to go offline even with minimal visits.

Using resource-intensive plugins will require more resources and reduce the number of visits your site can support.

Conversely, using caching can significantly increase the number of visits your site can handle.
