Frequently asked questions
What is a Shared Hosting?
Shared hosting is a solution that allows you to have your website online at an
affordable price. By dividing the cost of the shared server and the cost of system interventions with many other accounts it is possible to offer a solution at a low cost, still offering a professional service.
Unlike some competitors we do not oversell, i.e. we limit the number of accounts per server, in order to maintain maximum performance for our customers’ websites and guarantee hardware resources for each account.
In this type of hosting, server resources are divided between multiple accounts. This solution allows to reduce costs and give a good web hosting service to those who do not have enough visits to justify the costs of a dedicated solution.
This is opposed to a dedicated hosting, where the customer has access to the resources of the whole machine (real or virtual), for a higher cost of course. An example of this service are virtual private servers (vps hosting),
VPS cloud hosting or a
dedicated server. More expensive services for those who have greater needs such as traffic peaks or need to use non-standard software installed on the server.
The shared web space allows you to host only one site per hosting account. Unlike
semidedicated hosting which allows you to host multiple sites on the same account, up to an unlimited number of websites hosted on the same account. With shared hosting you need one hosting account per site.
When you purchase a shared hosting plan you have access to the
cPanel control panel, the most used panel in hosting and one of the easiest to use.
What is the difference with WordPress hosting?
Our shared hosting services are an economical yet high-performance solution. Unlike a normal shared plan,
WordPress hosting uses LiteSpeed + LSCache for even higher performance and has more resources to support multiple simultaneous visitors.
On shared hosting you have OPcache and memcached.
How much is the domain renewal?
The
domain with SupportHost is included
forever in the price, even at renewal. Not all domain extensions are included in the price. During the order you will see the free domain extensions available for the hosting account you choose.
No nasty surprises at renewal for our customers. We, at SupportHost, have decided to have clear prices and to make sure that we do not increase the prices at renewal for our customers.
Does the price shown include taxes?
We only charge VAT to private people in EU and Estonia businesses. If you have a VAT number or live outside of Europe all invoices will be VAT exempt.
Where is my website hosted?
Our
datacenters are located in Germany and Virginia (USA). From a performance point of view, as long as your website is hosted in Europe (assuming your users are in Europe) there are no differences in terms of performance. Performance is defined by the type of servers used (i.e. hardware) and their connection.
How many visits will my website support?
The number of visits a hosting plan can support depends on several factors: the resources devoted to the account and how the site is built and optimized.
In the pricing table, we show an estimate to give you an idea of how many monthly visits the plan will be able to support. Consider that these are values provided to give an indication because resource utilization varies from site to site.
With our shared hosting plans, we offer unlimited traffic. In these cases, the number of visits is affected by the resources associated to the account. Depending on the plan you choose the resources in terms of RAM, CPU, IO and processes. You can see the limits shown in the pricing table.
Regarding the site and its optimization, we have to make considerations to understand how these factors affect resource utilization. If we take the case of a static site we will have lower resource consumption. In contrast, a dynamic site such as those created with WordPress and other CMSs will have greater needs in terms of resources. The amount of resources used will vary depending on the number of operations required for the CMS to create the page's code.
You can rely on the values in the table to get a rough indication of how many visits your site will support. Our advice is to pick a plan that you feel is suitable. In the future, if you need to, you can upgrade paying only the difference.

How can I transfer my website to SupportHost?
If you already have a website and want to change hosting and move to SupportHost all you have to do is order the hosting plan you prefer, we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll take care of everything by migrating your website for free without any inconvenience and with maximum transparency.

What kind of performances can I expect from my website?
We only want the best for our customers. For this reason we use only top hardware: servers with 128Gb of RAM and NVMe SSD disks to guarantee our customers’ sites the maximum performance.
A well optimized website, hosted with us, can reach loading times of 0.5s. The location of the data center (as long as we stay in Europe) has no influence on the performance of the website. The factors that influence the loading speed of your pages are the connectivity of the server, its hardware and the way it is managed. Obviously the biggest impact on the performance of your website is due to the way your website was created.
I want to do SEO, is SupportHost a good choice?
Google considers speed as one of the ranking factors, so with SupportHost you are in good hands.
In addition, it is our constant commitment to maintain our IP reputation to the maximum, by blocking the accounts that do not comply with our terms of service and rules of good conduct. This way the reputation of our IPs is always good and our customers do not risk penalties due to the reputation of our IPs.
Is it possible to move to a different plan in the future?
With SupportHost you can
upgrade or downgrade at any time. If you upgrade to a more expensive plan with more resources, you will only pay the difference. If you decide to downgrade, the system will calculate the price for the operation and show it to you before issuing the invoice.
