Changes to the reseller API, newest first. Additions that do not break existing integrations (new fields, new error codes, new operations) can appear at any time; breaking changes will get a new version.

2026-09-30

• Changed — PUT /reseller/domains/{name}/contacts on a domain that isn’t active answers 403 domain_not_active (with domain_status) instead of 409 domain_not_updatable.
• Changed — a client domain operation refused because of the domain’s status now answers 403 domain_not_active (with domain_status) instead of 403 forbidden, which now means a missing permission only (see Errors).
• Changed — DNSSEC changes are accepted only while the domain is active; otherwise operations is empty and the new blocked_reason (code, message) says why (see DNSSEC).
• Changed — a DS digest whose length doesn’t match its digest type answers 422 invalid_request with fields.digest, instead of 422 dnssec_invalid_record.

• Added — GET /reseller/tlds/{tld}/extra-fields: the extra fields a TLD needs, with types, options, patterns and conditions.
• Added — DNSSEC calls for your domains, the same on every extension, and dnssec per TLD in GET /reseller/pricing.
• Changed — every error now uses one envelope, {"error": {"code", "message", …}}, with English messages: branch on code (see Errors).
• Changed — success bodies are {"data": …} (lists add links and meta); the success key is gone.
• Added — GET and PUT /reseller/domains/{name}/contacts: read and update every contact role of a domain in one call.
• Removed — PUT /reseller/domains/{name}/registrant: use PUT /reseller/domains/{name}/contacts.
• Added — POST /client/domains/{id}/release: release a .uk domain to another registrar by its tag.
